Frequently Asked Questions

There are a lot of options out there. Why should I choose you guys?

Our price is 50% below market price with financing options available. The treatment we provide is comprehensive and about more just the aesthetics. In addition to being treated in-person by a trained orthodontist at White, Greer and Maggard Orthodontics and having diagnostic records taken by our team prior to initiating treatment to detect any underlying conditions, we are also using the latest and most advanced technology and we offer a five year guarantee on your treatment. If anything happens or you’d like any additional adjustments during that five year period, we will provide treatment at no additional cost.

Why do I need to see an orthodontist?

Moving teeth is a prescribed medical procedure and needs personal supervision by an orthodontist. Moving teeth without a thorough examination of the overall health of the teeth and gums could result in the permanent loss of teeth, gum loss, changed bites and other issues which can lead to expensive and lifelong dental problems. For this reason, we highly recommend that you pursue treatment with a trained orthodontist.

We provide in-person, doctor-driven care by an orthodontist from White, Greer and Maggard Orthodontics. With minimal doctor visits (approximately 3-6) throughout their treatment, our patients know their doctor by name and are able to speak with them directly, giving them the confidence in their progress and obtain the outcome they desire. An in-person evaluation and supervision is very important because there is more to creating a healthy, beautiful smile than moving the visible portions of your teeth.

What are the payment options at The Smile Lab?

We offer no-interest monthly payment plans through CareCredit, starting as low as $110/month for 48 months. Subject to credit approval.

If our doctors determine you are an Invisalign® candidate, your cost is as low as $3,420, if you pay in full. This one-time payment includes a 10% pay-in-full discount.

Our trained Smile Specialists walk you through all your pricing options as part of your visit to The Smile Lab which should take about 30 minutes.

I have dental insurance. Can I assume I have orthodontic insurance too?

Maybe! We are happy to contact your insurance provider and verify your benefits for you before or during your visit.

Does it cost anything to get an assessment?

No it doesn’t! Your Smile Assessment and 3D scan is completely free!

How long will treatment take?

The length of treatment varies for each patient and can only be determined by our doctor. The average case takes about 14-16 months for adults.

Are there restrictions as to what I can eat while in treatment?

No. Thanks to the removable nature of the aligners, you can eat and drink whatever you want while in treatment. In fact, you’re required to remove your aligners to eat and drink. However you can keep your aligners in when you are drinking clear liquids. So, unlike when undergoing traditional treatment using wires and brackets, there is no need to restrict your consumption of any of your favorite foods and snacks unless you are instructed otherwise by your doctor. Also, it is important that you brush your teeth after each meal and prior to re-inserting your aligners to maintain fresh breath and proper hygiene.

How does Invisalign® treatment work?

Invisalign® clear aligners are custom-made for you. The aligners are virtually invisible and fit snugly over your teeth. Each aligner shifts your teeth slightly, moving them horizontally and vertically and even rotating them when needed. When you change to the next set of aligners (typically every week) your teeth gradually move into position, following a custom treatment plan mapped out by your orthodontist.

Will Invisalign® treatment be painful?

While Invisalign® moves your teeth without the pain and anxiety metal braces can cause, some people experience temporary discomfort for a few days at the beginning of each new stage of treatment. This is normal and is typically described as a feeling of pressure. It’s also a sign that Invisalign is working, as it moves your teeth to their final destination. This discomfort typically goes away in a couple of days.
